Since 2022, Etihad Arena on Yas Island has hosted NBA pre-season games, featuring top teams like the Mavericks, Bucks, Hawks, and Timberwolves. In 2025, the NBA Abu Dhabi Games return for a fourth year as the New York Knicks take on the Philadelphia 76ers on October 2 and 4, starring Joel Embiid, Paul George, Jalen Brunson, and Karl-Anthony Towns. Present by ADQ and in partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi, the event includes emirate-wide celebrations—Fan Appreciation Days, celebrity appearances, live music, and NBA District at Manarat Al Saadiyat, featuring exclusive merch and the Larry O’Brien trophy.
